Nur noch wenige Wochen stehen vor uns, bis wir zu unserer Reise aufbrechen werden. Irgendwie können wir es noch gar nicht glauben .  Ein auf und ab der Gefühle und Emotionen. Was machen wir da. ? Sind wir verrückt, oder einfach nur reif für die Insel.

Wilfried Erdmann hat es in einem seiner Bücher auch so erlebt. Die Vorbereitung ist das aufregendste, aber auch das einfachste. Wenn wir im April in Port Napoleon los ziehen wird wohl so sein das man uns regelrecht vom Steg weg schubsen muss mit der Aufforderung " nun geht endlich "

Zudem hier noch tiefster Winter ist uns wir noch gar nicht in Sommerstimmung sind.

Im Februar waren wir noch auf der Messe in Düsseldorf. Wir wissen nun das wir noch ca. € 50'000.-- ins Schiff investieren sollten / könnten und das es noch viele tolle Hilfsmittel zum Kratzen und Schleiffen gibt.

Unser Reisebudget ist dann auch gleich aufgebraucht, und wir können das Schiff gleich zum Verkauf ausschreiben. So muss ich mich als Skipper und Schiffs- Budgetverantwortlicher immer wieder all den Versuchungen wiederstehen,  und mich auf das Fahrtenseglergewissen berufen das sagt: "Im Zweifelsfalle NEIN" und die Ware wird dann nicht gekauft.

Das bedeutet, das wir nun doch keine Waschmaschine, Windfahnensteuerung, keine zusätzliche Fock, keine Heizung, kein Varioprop Faltpropeller, kein AIS, kein EPIRB, kein PLB, kein weiteres Hafenhandbuch und kein Satelitentelefon zulegen. Weiter wir immer noch keinen brauchbaren Fäkalientank, Grauwassertank haben.

So endet wohl die Geschichte unsere Reise, im Zeichen der Enthaltsamkeit und Übung im Nicht- Beschaffen von all den tollen Spielsachen.

Aber vielleicht ist ja genau das ein Sinn dieser Reise. !



Only few weeks ahead of us, until we will start our journey. Somehow we still cannot believe it. It is an up and down of feelings and emotions. What are we doing? Are we crazy, or simply ready to get away from it all.

Wilfried Erdmann experienced it in a similar way, as written in one of his books. The preparation is the most exciting, but also the most simple thing. When we start in April in port Napoleon you might have to hustle us away from the land and tell us "now, get up and go"

Furthermore we are in the middle of winter here, and not at all in a summer mood.

In February we were at the exhibition in Duesseldorf. We now know that we should invest approximately € 50'000.-- in the ship and that there is much more auxiliary material for scraping and polishing.

With this, the budget for our journey is immediately eaten up, and we can right away sell our ship. Therefore, being the Skipper and responsible for the budget, I have to resist all these temptations, and rely on the sailor knowledge which says "If in doubt NO" and then we don't buy the goods.

This means that we don't have a washing machine, wind vane control, no additional fock, no heating, no varioprop folded air-screw, no AIS, no EPIRB, no PLB, no additional port manual and no satellite phone. Moreover, we still don't have a usable fecal tank, gray water tank.

Perhaps this is how the story about our journey ends, showing abstinence and exercising non-acquisition of all the great toys.

But maybe this is exactly what our journey is meant to be!
